Description
Theme: "PC-98"
In the dream, it's 1992 and your dad came back from a business trip to Japan with a PC-9801 series computer and a whole stack of bootleg games. You boot it up, eagerly, excited to play titles that will never be released in your language, like, ever.

You start up game after game, each new one blending into the last, faster and faster, exploding feverishly in vignettes of colourful hair, seifuku and anime eyes, until you wake up with a jump, in your bedroom, circa 2021.

Your subconscious just invented the coolest, most gorgeous PC-98 game there never was. You feverishly scribble down your ideas on a fydoTile before the dream completely fades.

Draw a scene that looks like it could've come from a PC-98 game! To me PC-98 art screams cute girls, Touhou and dating sims, but maybe you have different vibes from it! Safe for work content please!

Outside of continuing other artist's edges as seamlessly as possible and USING them in your own tiles, please try your best to use 16 colours or less in your piece to stay true to the original pc-98 limitations! No severed limbs and no hard edges! Don't forget to leave interesting edges, too.

Some key ideas to get that authentic PC-98 feel!
✰ You can use 1-pixel black lines to outline characters
✰ Dither liberally any time you need to create an in-between colour
✰ Backgrounds have a painterly feel, very soft and kind of vague
✰ Menus, text boxes, and elaborate frames were common, but please don't box your art or the edges will be hard to work with!
✰ Big hair and weird bangs, eyes are huge & nose/mouth are tiny, and anything-goes 80s/early 90s fashion
✰ Bodies are more realistic in proportions compared to modern anime
✰ Dutch angles ("tilted" camera) are very common
✰ Intricate menus and speech bubbles are possible
✰ 16 colours!
✰ 128x96 size tiles, for a canvas that is authentically 640x480
