The Horrifying, Devouring Edge is a demon from the Quiltempest Plane that was able to slip into our reality one day many moons ago, through a gap in the Pale Veil accidentally created by Red Penguin in the Rubidium Age Quilts.

The HDE is a beast that traps artists and viewers alike in its checkerboard maw, hiding in the background of the Universal Canvas, waiting for tileists to mistake a colour from their Local Instance of the E V E R C H A N G I N G K A L E I D O S C O P E C O N T R A S T for their view's transparency value, sometimes even snaring the overeager neophyte, still yet to learn how their ▄▀▄▀▄▀VOIDSPACEBORDERS▄▀▄▀▄▀ appear, on its cimmerian-magentoid fangs.

But to fall to the HDE is neither guilty nor shameful: while it is easy to view its wrath as atrocious, the Edge is a beast that trades embarrassment for opportunity-- the only truly fouled fydoTilean Edge is the one honoured by neither of its neighbours, and one person's "error" awaits becoming two people's achievement! As in all edges, actualization is found in collaboration and creativity, not supremacy and rejection.
