Lingonberry shrub, or Vaccinum vitis-idaea, is a shrub that produces red berries that can be consumed. These berries are picked in the wild for consumption, enjoyed by the Baltic states, Canada and East Europe, among others. Its tartness can be enjoyed as compotes, jams and smoothies, or even made into a sauce to be eaten with meat.
