- Okay you guys cannot tell ANYBODY that I am doing this but your theme this time is to make the worst edges possible.
Mixels, voids, vertical and horizontal walls: create the least considerate, most challenging godawful edges you can think of!
"Good edges" tend to convey information about what they are a part of to their neighbours and give them options for continuing them or concluding them gracefully. They offer ways to expand on their geometry and include neighbours in a way that "breaks the grid"-- disrupting obvious vertical and horizontal divides between submissions.
The "bad edges" you are encouraged to draw disregard these considerations, or actively oppose them.
It is worth reminding that there is no set definition of what makes edges "bad" since the difficulty of integrating them depends on context, colours, and the amount of information the offer to their neighbours in general.- • Try to think of what makes edges difficult for you and include those elements for your neighbours!
- • Remember that corner-edges are edges too!
- • Innovate!
Do not think you are off the hook, though! You still need to use the wretched borders you get in creative, thoughtful ways, integrating them into your work as best you can in spite of whatever your neighbours throw at you!
- • Be reminded that, as always, there is no shame in cancelling out of a tile you just do not think you can handle. You are here to have fun (and in this rare case, torture others), not to frustrate yourself! <3
- • The purpose of this absurd glacier quilt is to explore bad habits, so that you can know more about them and try to avoid them in the future, as well as to work with difficult, if not outright hostile edges you may encounter in the future. Think of it as a tile training course!
- • There are plenty of tiles here and each user may complete as many as eight to start with. If there are a lot of keeners, this number may increase later!
- • "Bad edges" does not mean "bad art!" Feel free to put whatever (original, basically-SFW) content you like into your tiles, taking your time to do a good job-- just make sure the edges you leave are awkward and tough to work with!
- • Starters have been made visiible from the start so that you can see a few examples of 'hostile edges'. Further tiles will become visible as their neighbours are concluded!
- • Remember: do your best to use incoming edges; do your best to ruin outgoing ones! ;D
- • Each tile has the standard, renewable 24-hour time limit.
