Ellie wasn't supposed to happen. A coworker of mine, one of my smoking buddies, he was talking about this rabbit that he'd got from a neighbor. The neighbor couldn't keep it for one reason, my buddy couldn't keep it for another, and I was like... Hm... I wouldn't mind a bunny! So, I texted my girlfriend.

Me: "How would you feel if I brought home a rabbit?"

GF: "We can talk about it when you get home tonight."

Believing that 'tis better to seek forgiveness than permission, that afternoon right after work, I drove to my buddy's place and picked up the rabbit, and brought her home to our apartment. And she was ours for six wonderful years, full of little rabbit poops everywhere and power cords chewed through. She was a good bun, and I'm glad I could give her a good home and a good life.
